The latest Scottish Professional Football League Team of the Week was announced yesterday following the latest round of matches at the weekend.

Having scored a hat-trick against Kilmarnock as we took victory at Rugby Park in the Scottish League Cup to book our place in the next round of the competition, striker Alfredo Morelos got the pick in the front line of the selection, but it’s fair to say plenty of Rangers fans had complaints with the selection.

Fans of all sides rarely agree with the one man per team selection criteria given it’s supposed to be a Team Of The Week and a players’ performance shouldn’t be ignored because a colleague has already taken a spot in the selected eleven, but that’s exactly what happened again and Rangers saw the likes of Wes Foderingham’s excellent showing after his time out of the team ignored. James Tavernier’s personal contribution in the game also saw him overlooked for a man who didn’t match his contribution, and the gripes could go on.

If our form continues given how we’ve started the campaign, this is a topic that probably won’t go away with the bizarre selection rules.
