Former Rangers player Ross McCormack has been linked with a move back to Ibrox this summer, with Aston Villa telling him he won’t be playing at the club this season, according to The Daily Record.
The 32-year-old, who earns a reported £40,000-a-week, is alerting a number of clubs regarding a possible loan move, Rangers included, say the paper.
The attacker fell out with Steve Bruce last season and was eventually shipped off to Melbourne City on loan, where he enjoyed a prolific spell of goalscoring.
Netting at least 14 goals in four of the last five seasons, there’s no doubting he would add a goal threat at Ibrox and could be a solid option now Jamie Murphy looks likely to miss most of the season.
Fans though don’t seem especially keen, believing there are either better options out there or the fact he is a Celtic supporter putting them off.
These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the speculation…
Don’t see why we’d need him Morelos and lafferty can split the load, a 3rd striker of his quality would mean reduced game time for the other 2

Never ever ever ever, self confessed supporter of them?
He’s not the talent we require and definitely not what we want. Look at the grief Windass got, every mistake from McCormack would have a knock on effect to his team mates. We don’t need to go backward or downward. So it’s pic.twitter.com/DHISzEUMCp

Don’t think he would fit into the team in my opinion and with Lafferty signing in the next couple of days hopefully then don’t see bringing to rangers

Who ? ????????. Over rated and his heart is with the east end of Glasgow. It’s a No from me

He’s an average player. He wasn’t good enough for us before which is why he left. He never commanded a regular place. Plus he’s a big Celtic fan.
