The future of Andreas Skov Olsen looked like it was going to be settled in the next few days, however, if the comments of his Bologna manager, Sinisa Mihajlovic, are anything to go by, he might not be going anywhere.

Ahead of their Serie A clash with Napoli on Monday, the Football Italia legend was asked about the recent speculation linking his Denmark international with a move away from the club – Rangers joined by Brugge, Hertha Berlin, Torino and Copenhagen in the race for his signature – only to suggest that he still has an important role to play, as reported by The Scotsman:

“Skov Olsen is doing well.

“We have many solutions. I still don’t know how and who I will play, but on Skov I know I can count on two roles.

“I choose the players with the sporting director, but it is always me who decides if there is a need (to sell) and who must be taken, together with the sports director.”

Despite the interest and the outside perception that Olsen has struggled in Italy, he has still been getting regular game time, albeit slightly out of position at right wing-back, that Bologna have been linked with Aberdeen’s Calvin Ramsay suggests that they are looking for a specialist in the role rather than a square peg in a round hole.

From which country does Dundee United keeper Benjamin Siegrist come from?

The player himself will be frustrated at not getting the chance to play in his preferred position on the right wing or in attack and it may be that Mihajlovic gets a knock on his door, if he hasn’t had one already.
