Simply stunning – Gerrard gifted unique red, white and blue ‘fusion’ football boots

|

Steven Gerrard has been gifted a very tidy pair of football boots.

To mark Rangers Premiership success this season, Greenock-based artist Craig Black has teamed up with Italian brand Pantofola d’Oro to create a very unique product.

The craft is clear to see and the end result is stunning.

Most will be very impressed, well apart from Adidas who still endorse Gerrard and continue as a supplier of clothing and footwear to the Gers boss.

Craig Black is also the ingenuity behind the new Rangers font and typeface that has become a brand in itself.

From shirt printing to club communications, the stylised text is already synonymous with Rangers.

On the joint venture, the ‘Fusion Series’ creation has been explained including the method for the striking acrylic paint:

‘The exclusive collaboration combines one of football’s most historic brands, Pantofola d’Oro who represent the pinnacle of handcrafted quality in their football boots, with artist, Craig Black who is best known for his bespoke and innovative artworks, as well as being the typographer and creator of the Rangers Football Club brand typeface for their 2020 brand evolution.’

‘Using his eye-catching acrylic fusion paint–pouring technique, directly on to the Pantofola d’Oro ‘Lazzarini’ boots, Black brought to life the spirit of the Rangers Football Club colours in a one-of-a-kind art installation.”
