As the old adage goes, where there’s a will there’s a way.

With over 100 thousand travelling football supporters set to arrive in the Andalucian city of Seville next week, there needs to be an effective plan for safety, space, facilities and transport. Fortunately, there is also another two large scale stadiums in Seville as well as the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, home of Sevilla FC, where the game will take place.

Real Betis’ Benito Villamarin Stadium and the Olympic (or Cartuja) Stadium, respectively, can be utilised to entertain and provide for ticketless supporters in what would be a unique experience itself. For this to work, large screens would need to be in operation for supporters to watch the game.

Space, food, drink, toilets – charge €10 a ticket for entry to cover costs and there will still be a lot of money to be made. The city of Seville stands to make millions next week.

As the map screenshot above shows, there is an ideal north/south split with Sevilla’s home roughly in the middle. It just makes sense given the numbers involved and can alleviate congestion and everything else in the city centre.

Meetings are taking place today, with plans being drawn up between the relevant authorties which will most likely include UEFA and the clubs, Rangers and Frankfurt. Hopefully the details can be finalised asap so that travelling supporters know what to expect and can then start to make their own arrangements for the time in the city, over the game.

Come on, let’s put on a proper show.
