Joe Aribo has put a power of work into this season and his commitments will extend beyond the Scottish Cup final when he is due to cross the Atlantic with Nigeria.

Joining him will be Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey as all three Gers have been named in the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming games against Mexico and Ecuador.

In what must seem like a test of endurance, Aribo has featured 64 times for club and country combined this term. That is crazy.

His head knock that forced him off against RB Leipzig last week meant that he got some rest time, sitting out against Dundee United but he will be close to a return to the squad for the last home fixture of the season tomorrow night when Ross County visit Ibrox.

It could be that Aribo agrees with Nigeria to miss these games as he has nothing to prove. Otherwise, it will be well into the first week of June that he is back home and settling into the off season following a long and arduous campaign.

It can be one to end with major glory with Aribo and his Gers teammates just 90 minutes away from winning the Europa League as well as the Scottish Cup to follow soon after. What a way that would be for the 25-year old to end his season and possibly his Rangers career with a move back to England quite possible.

Balogun is a senior member of the Nigeria squad and Bassey will be ready for a breakthrough which will be a formality if he carries his club form onto the international stage.
