The draw for the quarter finals of this seasons’ Scottish Cup took place earlier today, and Rangers have been drawn against Albion Rovers.

The game has been drawn to take place at Ibrox and this is the first time in four years that Rangers have reached the final eight of the competition.

The date is still subject to change, but is pencilled in for Saturday March 8th, and the date could well change if it’s selected for live TV coverage.

Manager Ally McCoist has insisted that the team will not be complacent when it comes to the quarters and we won’t underestimate the banana skin that Albion could prove to be, again saying the victory earlier in the season in the Ramsdens Cup will not be an indicator as to how this game will go.

Speaking to the Official Site after the draw was made, McCoist said.

‘I wanted a home draw and that’s all I asked for, we’ve got that so we’ve got to be pleased. To be fair to Albion Rovers, they’ve been unbelievable in the Scottish Cup so far this season. Obviously the put out Motherwell with what is arguably the result of the competition so far, but then they had a very comfortable 2-0 win over Stenhousemuir yesterday. They will be able to come to Ibrox, enjoy the game and they’ll have nothing to lose. We’ll have to be guarded and there will be no complacency from us.”
