Rangers pursuit of the wonderfully named Zinedine Ferhat has gone quiet, however, we have had an update from a source with good connections in France.

Those that follow The 4th Official on Twitter will know about the sterling work they do across a range of teams, however, they have proven to be correct on more than one occasion over the last couple of seasons when it comes to potential arrivals, the ill-fated move of Bongani Zungu amongst them.

Modern football has changed and sites like this are where to go for the latest information. Gone are the days when you would have to read a newspaper to find out the latest transfer rumours, nowadays, the story is already out of date by the time you get to the paper shop. We only need to look at a certain Daily Record journalist’s “exclusives” over the last few weeks – all of them were wrong.

Who finished as Rangers top goal scorer this season?

When news of interest in Ferhat first broke from France, The 4th Official confirmed that Rangers were “definitely interested” but that he was a player in demand, as expected, he is a talented player and has just a year left on his current Nimes contract.

The site has since updated fans by revealing that there has, as yet, been no official bid and that the Gers, unfortunately, do not appear to be in “pole position” to get a deal done, his source going as far to claim that the Scottish weather may be affecting the Algerian international’s lukewarm attitude to heading to Scotland – he wouldn’t be the first and won’t be the last.

One to keep and eye on and as always, when we know, you’ll know.
