There are few reliable sources when it comes to all things Rangers and, specifically, transfer rumours.

The likes of the Four Lads had a Dream blog, the Heart and Hand podcast, the 4th Official blog and, more recently, The Rangers Review, can though, be relied up to provide accurate information and it would appear as if they have, at least, some inside information.

And it is the latter, who recently rubbished claims of Allan McGregor’s contract offer, who have now oured cold water on another link with Stoke City left-back, Josh Tymon, apparently not a target.

Derek Clark, of the Rangers-centric media outlet, made the following claim on his personal Twitter feed:

“I’m reliably informed Rangers aren’t interested in Josh Tymon and the club are not in the market for a left back.”

Every story about our “interest” in Tymon – who is valued in the region of £5million – has been caveated with the fact that either Borna Barisic or Calvin Bassey would have to be sold to create space for the England youth cap before any move would be considered, however, this report suggests that the 23-year old isn’t a target at all.

We’ve seen this before from the club in that only certain links seem to be commented on, not officially, but through one of the previously mentioned outlets, however, even if we were interested, I’m not sure that Ross Wilson would want anyone knowing our potential business and recruitment plans.

As with a few positions, left-back is one that we are well catered for but all that could change, after all, this is the same source that said Aaron Ramsey wasn’t joining Rangers…
