The next few months could well define what Rangers is going to look like over the coming years, retaining the title could see established stars decide to stick around plus Giovanni van Bronckhorst would be able to attract a better calibre of player should he decide to cash-in on one or two of the players in the last years of their respective deals.

Plans have already been put in place for the future with the arrivals of Mateusz Zukowski, James Sands and John Souttar, add this to the emergence of Alex Lowry, Leon King and Charlie McCann and the team could look completely different in  couple of years time.

Much of our business will depend on whether or not there are any offers for key players and what ones sign extensions to their current contracts with The Herald’s Rangers reporter, Chris Jack, claiming that it could be an interesting close season, as told to GiveMeSport:

“I think it’s a really big, big summer for Rangers, and there’s a lot at stake for them over the next couple of months because the next few months really can shape them.”

The squad has been settled for some time now with Ross Wilson only really needing to add depth, however, we could see – for the first time since 2019 – players being brought in with the sole purpose of strengthening the first XI.

It’s pretty obvious how important winning the Scottish Premiership is, an extra £20-30million in the bank balance would go a long way in allowing Van Bronckhorst to stamp his authority over the team in both the short and long term.
