Glen Kamara has already seen a host of clubs linked with making a bid for him this summer but, as yet, nothing formal has been revealed.

The latest speculation has come from Russia though with RB Sport claiming that Spartak Moscow are “seriously interested” in the Finland international.

Vital Rangers spoke to Russian based football journalist Andrew Flint, who isn’t sure how concrete the interest is, but that it isn’t the first time he has heard Kamara’s name mentioned, when asked to comment on the speculation, he said:

“I’m unconvinced it will happen, although not the first time we’ve heard links to him over here.”

We saw how important Kamara is to Rangers through his absence in the Champions League qualifiers against Malmo, it still leaves a bitter taste that he is missing three games because he was the victim of racist abuse and retaliated, his ability in transition between defence and attack and vice versa is hugely important to a team that thrives in chaos and counter attacking football – especially in continental competition.

Who scored Rangers first ever goal under Steven Gerrard in EL qualification?

Ross Wilson will have known for some time that Kamara will be the subject of interest from “bigger” clubs which will only have been exacerbated by his performances in the European Championships where he proved that he deserves to be playing on a higher stage than the Scottish Premiership.

Given the well documented £50,000 that we paid for the former Arsenal academy graduate, any fee will be a sizeable profit, but, when you look at the standard he sets and fees like the one Newcastle United paid for Joe Willock, anything less than a record breaking figure would be a huge disappointment.
