Yet another transfer rumour linking a Rangers player with a move away from Ibrox has been rubbished, this time by the club said to be interested in signing him, according to Sky Sports.

Vital Rangers revealed yesterday that Spartak Moscow were eyeing up a move for Glen Kamara but that our sources didn’t think there was much credibility to the story, something that has since been confirmed by the Russian’s press officer Dmitry Zelenov via Russian outlet Championat:

“Spartak is not interested in Glen Kamara and, moreover, does not negotiate with him or his representatives.”

Short and sweet.

Kamara is obviously one of our key players and his absence was sorely missed in the Champions League exit to Malmo, finding a player who can replicate his work in and out of possession is going to be one of Ross Wilson’s hardest tasks – Nnamdi Ofoborh was signed with this purpose in mind, but, as yet, we are no wiser as to when he will be able to return to training, let alone pull on the famous light blue jersey.

Who scored Rangers first ever goal under Steven Gerrard in EL qualification?

It’s still a surprise that nobody has made a move for him already, especially when you consider the sums paid for relatively untested players in England – we have an established international who excelled at the European Championships and yet he remains a Rangers player.

Kamara is a hard player to put a price tag on but when you consider the deal that saw Kris Ajer move to Brentford for over £13million in the last year of his contract, we really should be looking at anything over that being the starting price – one of our current squad is going to break the £9m record sale when Alan Hutton signed for Tottenham Hotspur but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be Glen Kamara, well, not yet anyway.
