Rangers have been consistently linked with a move for Louis Moult over the last few transfer windows, but could January be the perfect time for the club to finally bite?

Although he eventually left Motherwell to sign for Preston North End, the Gers were linked with a move for the player as recently as March, with the player failing to make the kind of Championship impact people expected.

He’s made 19 league appearances, scoring just three league goals.

With Umar Sadiq failing to impress, the need for a third striker in January could be strong and Moult would tick all the boxes you expect from a back-up striker to Alfredo Morelos.

Although he’s struggled in England, he scored 50 goals in 98 matches for Motherwell, with plenty coming in big matches against the likes of ourselves and Celtic too. He played with a confidence and almost arrogance you need from a lethal attacker.

At Scottish Premiership level he’s ideal.

Could the recruitment team at Ibrox convince the Championship outfit to part with the player in January?

Do you think we should try to sign Louis Moult? Have your say in the poll below…
