Having made his reserve return for Rangers recently, and then taken in minutes against both Dundee and Ayr in the Scottish League Cup, summer signing Eros Grezda got more minutes in his tank over the October international break whilst on duty for his country.

Albania lost out the other day to Israel in Sunday’s clash between both sides but as the 23-year-old continues to rebuild his full fitness following the ankle surgery that has kept him out of contention for manager Steven Gerrard until the middle of September this season, his 45 minute run out against Jordan at the beginning of this window will have done him no harm at all, nor will the start in their most recent game.

Having been brought back into the first-team fold and handed his debut, he’s bound to be in Gerrard’s plans – at least as a substitute – for the trip to Hamilton Academicals this weekend as real football returns.

We might then get a better to see exactly the kind of player we signed from NK Osijek over the summer as a number of fans have been impressed by what they have seen so far.
