Rangers will return to Portugal for their pre-season training camp in July, according to reports in Denmark.

Sondersjyke director of football Klaus Rasmussen revealed to Der Nordschleswiger newspaper that his team would be facing Steven Gerrard’s side as well as Primeira Liga opposition as part of their own camp:

“We’ll meet Glasgow Rangers and Braga in Portugal.”

“We will do a summer training camp in Portugal for the first time and visit Casa Pia.”

“This is a training camp that is 100 percent financed by (club owner) Robert Platek, ” said Rasmussen.

The Gers visited the Algarve back in 2019 ahead of Gerrard’s second season, residing at the Quinta Do Lago complex.

A plan for Portugal this Summer seems entirely plausible given that it is currently on the UK Government ‘Green’ list for travel – as much as elite sports have exemptions and the overall situation can change.

In is expected that Rangers will reveal their pre-season plans quite soon, as well as outlining the full schedule of training games that have been arranged.

At present, we know that Arsenal will visit Ibrox on Saturday 17th July as part of the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations, ahead of the new Premiership season kick-off two weeks later.
