You can tell it’s Old Firm derby week and where certain journalists’ allegiances lie when you start to see the odd “Glasgow Derby” pop up in the build-up to the game.

Every mainstream outlet in Scotland refers to one of the world’s biggest derbies by its correct name, however, The Glasgow Times has slipped up when covering comments made by Simon Jordan on Talksport on Monday alongside Graeme Souness and Jim White – but that’s another story.

Not once in the article was the “Old Firm” referred to, however, “Glasgow Derby” was seen a few times, something you’d expect to see in a Celtic blog never mind a mainstream media outlet, something that says all you need to know about the publication and the author.

It’s never been anything that’s bothered me, the whole “zombie”, “you let your club die” or “Glasgow Derby” patter, because we and every other organisation that’s relevant know the reality – as do most grown-ups.

At least try and come up with something original or something amusing, but by using everything other than “Old Firm” individuals that are guilty are as well holding a neon sign above their heads that says “SEVCO!!!” in big neon lights.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall when they are behind closed doors, all desperately trying not to say “Old Firm” but hating us at an irrational level for a club that is only ten years old – one day they might make their minds up as to which one it is, it certainly looks like The Glasgow Times has.

Which Rangers defender kept Patrick Kluivert quiet on his Ibrox debut in 1996?

Sounds like your not bothered about glasgow Derby which has been since 2012 sevco 2012 in a business sense which is huge you are sevco football sense you are rangers international not rfc no big sports company will be associated with sevco fifa excepted them cause sfa did so the glasgow times aren’t doing anything illegal if it was you would sue instead you try your old mob rule but your not the club that could call on friends to manipulate the rubber rules of the sfa so sad you can nit admit your club folded in 2012

Was it the club or company that folded Jack? What’s the name of Celtic’s holding company, is it different to the name of the club, has it ever changed hands? Just FIFA, UEFA, SFA, SPFL that recognise Rangers are the same club, they must all be wrong though eh? If the SFA were our “friends” why didn’t they manipulate the rules to let us stay in the Premiership? Enjoy your day and thanks for reading!

Pacific Shelf anyone? Ahhh but that’s different, seemingly, somehow. The eel it’s bleat on about it’s the SFA’s fault… like the SFA ALWAYS DO US A GOOD TURN…The same SFA, btw, who refused to move a game due to RAngers playing a EURO final… at the bequest of Celtic.
These people also need to look up the word hierarchy…. The SFA don’t dictate to FIFA or UEFA. So even if the SFA wanted to do RANGERS “a favour” FIFA and UEFA would have over ruled them.
This is the same SFA btw, who were complicit in allowing Craig White to buy Rangers.
Then their is of course the president, in other countries of the owning company being bought out and the club remaining in tact, as per court rulings.
Then there is the big problem the small minded can’t get past, so just ignore… it’s been upheld in court and is quite normal business practice. Even lawyers from Celtic have admitted that.
