With no football to talk about, Rangers fans have resorted to discussing transfer rumours and who may or may not be coming or going over the next few weeks, Nathan Patterson being very much a hot topic.

The 4th Official has been quiet on recent speculation but has broken his silence on how much it will take to see an offer accepted for the Scotland international:

“In the summer transfer window, from what I heard Rangers were serious about the £15million price tag for Nathan Patterson.

“You have to believe Everton have to get very close to that figure with the vast majority being upfront and a substantial sell on clause to tempt Rangers.”

As already discussed by Vital Rangers, if any offers come in over £10m plus add ons, they will be considered, but £15m would be impossible to turn down, especially if there are contractual bonuses on top of that.

It’s a transfer that appears to be polarising the Rangers support; in one camp, there are fans who believe that this sort of money for a player who isn’t a first team regular is impossible to turn down, whilst the other side feel that as our best academy talent for 20 years, every effort should be made to keep the 20-year old at the club.

It’s a tough decision but, as fans, we never truly know what is going on behind closed doors and what other offers might have been tabled – £15m though would set a real benchmark for Ross Wilson and prove that he can get top dollar for even a player with less than a handful of league starts and just 27 appearances in total.
