A report in The Glasgow Evening Times has told of Rangers target Jack Wilshere’s efforts to get himself ready for his next club after releasing footage of himself in training.

The former West Ham United midfielder has been without a club since October and, without a proper pre-season, he will be some way behind his team-mates when he does eventually sign for a new club.

The GET also tells of the England international’s teaser on social media in which he suggests that an announcement could be made soon as to where he will spend the next phase of his career.

Wilshere has never had his injury problems to seek and has rarely seen a season without surgery, he claims to have been fit for some time, however, there was also no football for the best part of six months.

It now seems unlikely that the 28-year old will end up at Ibrox despite claims that it is the move he wants the most, Valencia were rumoured to have been frontrunners for his signature but the stories linking him with a move to Rangers refuse to go away.

How many senior players did Rangers sign this summer?

Steven Gerrard’s midfield is already well catered for so you would have to think that a pay-as-you-play contract offer would be the only one that is of any value to the Light Blues, and as Ross Wilson recently explained, no additions will be made to the squad unless it is the right fit for the club, in more ways than one.
