When Ianis Hagi was announced as being the sponsors man of the match on Saturday against Dundee United what was left of the freezing cold crowd let out a collective chuckle, one born out of amazement after a performance from the Romanian international that he will want to forget.
A 93rd minute rabona that went straight out for a throw-in when a simple pass was on did little to ease the frustrations of Rangers fans that had seem him continuously give the ball away and ruin promising build up play, it was far from his finest hour in a Light Blue shirt.
His apology was accepted, if not entirely needed, but it does, at least, show that he is aware that it was far from decision making that we expect when we are trying to see out a 1-0 win.
Rangers fans took to Twitter after the game and Hagi’s display was the biggest talking point on a day that promised much and delivered little.
