Unlike the common perception that the likes of Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara or Alfredo Morelos will leave this summer, there are early signs that point to Connor Goldson and Ianis Hagi being the ones that could depart.

Goldson is yet to sign an extension to his contract and is coming up to the last 12 months with Joseph Okumu now being heavily linked with a £2.5million bid from Rangers, but, the biggest concern remains around the noise surrounding our Romanian playmaker.

Already we have seen Sevilla, Lazio and Bochum all said to be interested with a transfer fee starting at around the £10m mark, the player himself has said that he is happy at Ibrox and loves it here but he has also said that one day he would love to play for Galatasaray, the place of his birth and where his father is a hero.

Who finished as Rangers top goal scorer this season?

And this is where the strength of the rumour from Turkey grows. Teams in the Super Lig now have to have eight “homegrown” players and because Hagi jnr was born there, he would automatically count towards their quota.

Even before we signed the 22-year old there was speculation surrounding his future and his reputation as a “Golden Boy” and his growing reputation will continue to see stories circulating in the press as long as he is at Rangers.

If we sell Hagi for £10-15m it would be sad to see him go when he is so clearly not yet the finished article and his first full season has promised so much, I just don’t think we are going to be the ones to keep him long enough to see him reach his obvious potential.
