Is now the time to cash in on Kamara?

Glen Kamara, since his excellent form in our title winning season of 2020/21 has been linked with a move away from the club on an almost regular basis, most of the time it has been clubs from down south who are said to be interested in making him an offer.

With a contract extension under his belt, we are protected in term of not having to sell him before he leaves for nothing, however, with Galatasaray eyeing an £8million bid, it has sparked a conversation among Rangers fans.

How much would you accept for the Finland international?

Can we afford to sell him?

Since Giovanni van Bronckhorst arrived, Kamara has played a few positions but it would appear as if the gaffer prefers him in a more advanced position, that he posted his best numbers of four goals and five assists suggests that it was a move worth making, even though his game time was relatively restricted compared to under Steven Gerrard.

What this means though is that we have a very talented player but one that doesn’t really suit our system anymore, I wouldn’t want to sell too many players in one window but if an offer double that of the one made by the Turkish side came in then a decision would have to be made.

This summer has already seen Ross Wilson and Gio look to bring in players who are more flexible and who fit into the new shape and style, with Kamara not a guaranteed starter – although, ironically, he was outstanding against West Ham United – cashing in wouldn’t be a bad decision, not that a club as small as Galatasaray could afford him that is.
