Rangers fans react to potential SPFL stitch up as “investigation” announced

A report in The Scottish Sun has claimed that the SPFL are set to launch an internal investigation into the voting farce that saw Dundee have sole responsibility for the immediate future of football north of the border.

Murdoch MacLennan, as SPFL Chairman, is the man said to have ordered the action as a result of the fiasco that saw the Tayside club vote, then withdraw their vote after the governing body claimed that they hadn’t received it, bizarrely, according to the resolution, clubs can withdraw a no vote but not a yes vote.

Which English club did Rangers sign Ally McCoist from in 1983?

MacLennan has previously been under the microscope and had his impartiality called into question from Rangers after it was revealed that he worked for a company that Celtic’s largest shareholder, Dermot Desmond, was a co-owner of, surprisingly, that internal investigation found their was no case to answer.

The Ibrox club has called for an independent investigation and the suspension of key players Neil Doncaster and Rod McKenzie but as yet, there has been no response to this request other than MacLennan’s statement.

Rangers fans took to Twitter in response to the news with little doubt about how the governing body will deal with it’s own mishandling and incompetent behaviour.

In what should be a relatively straight forward issue to resolve, and with Rangers holding “evidence” that proves wrongdoing, the SPFL are at a crossroads, cover-up or come clean, watch this space.
