If there’s one thing that we’ve seen over the last few weeks that proves we are on the right tracks it’s the way in which Ross Wilson has conducted himself.
The appointment of Giovanni van Bronckhorst was seamless but it has been the other recent stories that point to higher standards and expectations in terms of our long-term ambitions.
Royal Antwerp’s well respected head of academy Zeb Jacobs is expected to replace Graeme Murty in what would be a sizeable coup, however, it is the news that Dave Vos is to join the new manager’s backroom staff that has got fans excited.
Appointing a coach who has been at the best academy in world football for ten years is a sign of real intent, as our sporting director of football spoke about, succession planning shouldn’t just be about players, it should be about the management team and coaches too.

As a very long standing supporter of Rangers moving towards the Ajax model in every department, it’s fair to say I am absolutely thrilled about Dave Vos.
The club have spoken before about seeing Ajax as a comparative club and it’s clear they mean business. Excited by this!

Most of the excitement will be around whether or not Vos can bring any of his former players with him, the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Donny van de Beek and Frenkie de Jong are just a few names who have graduated in recent years, getting the next generation off the conveyor belt could save, and make us a few pounds, further down the line.
