We know, you know, they know.

This isn’t about fans, or about the “good of the game”, it’s about winning, losing and self interest, did you see Celtic’s team to play St Mirren?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with self interest but this is a familiar problem with the way that the SPFL is run, we have seen all too well in the last couple of years that it is open for corruption, sorry, for emails to go missing.

We are now in a position where it is believed that 10 teams were in favour of the proposal to move the winter break forward and two teams – including Rangers – are against, but the buck, as already reported by Vital Rangers, lies with Sky.

The 4th Official is a well connected observer on all things Scottish football and has exclusively revealed that this could be enough to prevent any change to the calendar with their source in the Premiership claiming:

”I believe it’s a no but who knows with these things. But for me, it will come down to our commercial contracts and they will be watertight for the sponsor (Sky). If we don’t play these 3 games and we don’t start on the 22nd we could be in trouble.

”I honestly don’t know if the clubs can vote it through and if so I imagine you need 11 agreeing, I know there is 1 that isn’t already. If I was a betting man I would say it’s Rangers. Very cynical how this goes ahead.”

I would love to hear the arguments for those wanting the fixtures moved to an imaginary available space in the calendar when fans are allowed back into stadia at a date and time that is, as yet, unknown to anyone. It’s utter madness.

Play as many games as possible if it is safe to do so, we have endured a whole season without fans, having no football at all isn’t worth thinking about and the last thing we should do is encourage those that would see the game called to a halt purely for political gain.
