Game. Set. Match.

When Dave King spoke about Celtic folding like a “pack of cards” after winning just one league title, I don’t think he meant it to be quite as accurate as it is playing out.

Chief executive – gone. Manager – gone. Captain – going. Scott Brown the latest to jump the sinking ship, despite being offered the opportunity to stay at the club he professes to love so much to take up a role with Aberdeen, according to The Daily Record.

But as he looks to take his first step into management, his interview, via The Scottish Sun, after the Old Firm gave a fascinating insight into how successful he might, or might not be:

“I think the first-half we were exceptional.

“It was a stonewaller.

“There is no need for Odsonne [Edouard] to go down. He chopped inside and there is contact, we seen it at half-time.

“It is one of those if you go in at half-time two up it’s a totally different gamae.

“But they managed to get back into the game but we’ve had enough chances to win it. I thought we were very good throughout the whole 90 minutes.”

In what year did Allan McGregor make his Rangers debut?

Celtic weren’t exceptional. This is the sort of nonsense that Neil Lennon used to come out with, apparently – according to Brown – they should have been 5-0 up at half-time….really? They had one good chance other than their goal, Mohamed Elyououssi heading straight at Allan McGregor from a corner, their other chances were from 25 yards out or from difficult angles, oh, and if it was a stonewaller, why didn’t they appeal Edouard’s yellow card?

Put it this way, if McGregor had let any of them in he would have been rightly criticised.

Steven Gerrard has mastered not getting too high, or too low after games and has always been able to remain objective regardless of the result, Brown appears to be following in his mentor’s footsteps – the world of delusion and conspiracy awaits.
