Rangers were long linked with a pre-contract move with QPR’s Bright Osayi-Samuel during the winter before the 23-year old forward joined Fenerbahce for £500,000 in January, signing a 4-year deal in the process.

But, with just one goal and one assist in his 18 appearances in the Super Lig, things are not going quite as he had hoped and as such, his time in Turkey could be short lived.

This is according to Sport Witness who claim that the Nigerian is already being touted for a move with the Yellow Canaries looking to offload some of their underperforming players to rebuild next season in their attempts to topple Galatasaray.

There is a reason Rangers were interested in getting Osayi-Samual on a pre-contract. He is, at the moment, worth between £3-5million, QPR in fact accepted a bid of £4.7m only last summer but the deal fell through.

The value in paying several million pounds for a player just isn’t worth the same risk, given his pedigree and proven success in the Championship, had we got him before he went to Fenerbahce, even if he wasn’t a great success we still would have made money on him – that probably isn’t the case now.

Who finished as Rangers top goal scorer this season?

It’s also not a coincidence that we have subsequently signed Fashion Sakala, a player who, like Osayi-Samuel, is capable of playing anywhere across the forward line and is equally, if not even, faster, he also has a better goal scoring record.

That Celtic are also mentioned in the report from Turkey suggests that the Old Firm are being name dropped to increase interest in the player, six-months ago it was a deal that made absolute sense, now, no thanks.
