Alfredo Morelos entered the international break with nine goals from his last nine games (transfermarkt.co.uk). It is a goalscoring record that any European striker would be happy to have.

But while his actual goalscoring tally may be impressive on its own, understanding the way he scores his goals will impress you even more. From the start of the 2018/2019 season to his two goals at Ross County, the Colombian had scored 46 goals. Of those goals, 50% were scored with either his right foot or head. He also averages around 0.97 goals per 90 minutes of football in 2019/2020 (Total Football Analysis Magazine, November 2019, page 88).

This kind of lethality has made him one of the hottest prospects in European football. His ability to score from both his left and right, as well as his head, make him so difficult to defend. We have continued to see Morelos go down this trend of scoring from both feet this season. His wonder striker at Ibrox against Porto was a left-footed volley from just inside the penalty area. He almost scored a great header against the Portuguese team in the first left too. And his first-leg goal was a brilliant finish with his right (WhoScored.com).

How do you think he will score most of his goals this season? Do you think he will rely on his right? Or perhaps his left foot and head will come out on top? What if it continues to stay dead even?

What part of Morelos' body will he score with most this season?

His right foot

His left foot and head

His left foot and head

It will be a tie

It will be a tie

Should Morelos continue to score at the rate he is, there isn’t a defensive lineup in football that would have an easy game keeping him quiet. But the statistics showing his ability to score with any part of his body explains so much about why the player is so difficult to defend. If you show him onto his right, he’ll eat up the chance. If you take away his right and give him the left, he’ll eat that up too. Crosses into the box? Forget it, the £6.75-million rated ace has a big appetite. He’ll eat anything you give him up.
