Manager Ally McCoist was set to welcome back two players to training today, but only one of them will be considered for the game against Ayr United later tonight.

Arnold Peralta has now recovered from the hamstring strain that saw him substituted in the second half of the game against Forfar Athletic last week, and having missed the game against Stenhousemuir, he will return to the squad tonight, but probably not the starting XI.

Striker Andy Little was also expected to return to training following a number of weeks out but he won’t be involved tonight. Instead he will be getting some pitch time and match practice as an overage player when our U20 squad face Kilmarnock.

Having been out injured since March 12 with a thigh injury, a slow re-introduction has been deemed best for the Northern Ireland international, especially as he had hoped to be back before now given his contract situation.

Lee Wallace will again miss out, but he is showing good signs of recovered with his hip problem sustained in the Raith Rovers game, and he’s on target to return before the end of the season.

In other news, David Templeton’s groin injury is now considered a short term problem, but he’s unlikely for tonight. Lewis Mcleod is still struggling with his virus that laid him low back in January and Chris Hegarty could be in the squad tonight having served a two match U20 ban following a dismissal against Celtic recently.
