Rangers could potentially fall further behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this weekend after Steven Gerrard’s side could only manage a 1-1 draw away to Hibernian at Easter Road on Friday night.
Dominating the first half, the Gers could not put away the majority of their chances, scoring just once from a sumptuous Daniel Candeias finish.
Hibs were completely out of the game heading into half-time, but came out in the second half intent on causing Rangers problems, eventually equalising with 15 minutes remaining after some horrendous Gers defending.
Candeias was at fault for the equaliser, failing to track the run of Florian Kamberi who finished easily in an unmarked position at the back post from a basic cross.
Fans were not happy with the performance of the Portuguese winger in general, despite scoring our only goal, feeling he was far too wasteful with his final ball and feeling his lack of defensive discipline is a key deficiency in the team.
Some now believe he is not good enough to play regularly for the Gers and want the club to look for replacements in the summer.

Players who aren't good enough for our regular first 11 if we are going to challenge;
Candeias,
Barasic/Halliday
Worral

I love the work ethic and desire Candeias brings, but the bottom line is it's still not enough. For ever good ball there's 6-7 wasted.
He's a player who works hard but lacks the genuine quality thats needed. That's the first position is be looking to upgrade.

Candeias at the hibs goal with his hands on his knees is nightmare material man. Tracking back is the fucking basics.
