Giovanni van Bronckhorst has secured the acquisition of Dave Vos, a respected coach from the Ajax academy, according to reports in the Netherlands today.
Following the confirmed arrivals of Roy Makaay, Arno Philips and Yori Bosschaart to GvB’s backroom staff – it appears very likely that another Dutchman is on the way to bolster the new set-up, which would have an impact on the development of B team players as well as the first team squad.
As reported by the Telegraaf:
“With the departure of Vos, Ajax loses a young, ambitious trainer, who – just like Louis van Gaal for example – received his training at the Central Institute Training Sports Leaders (CIOS) and then also attended Cruyff University. Last year he passed the Professional Football Coach Course.”
After 10+ years at the club, Dave Vos leaves Ajax (U18) with immediate effect, according to Telegraaf. The U18 coach becomes an assistant at Rangers.
Huge blow for us. He’s such a great and talented coach, with a very positive way of coaching. All the best @VosDave! 👏 #AjaxU18 pic.twitter.com/owDX2LPcoF

As above, 38-year old Vos is said to have had over 10 years of experience at the prestigious Ajax academy which is some feat in itself. The quality and conveyor belt of talent at the Amsterdam club is well renowned, as is the overall youth development model across Holland and this move will be a significant coup for Rangers.
Whilst the senior players will be the priority, one of the other aims will be to make a greater impact in terms of getting more Auchenhowie graduates into the Rangers team and creating footballers capable of playing at a high level, in a similar vein to Nathan Patterson.
Vos departs his position as head coach of the Ajax U18 side, following his outgoing fixture yesterday, a 1-0 win over Besiktas in the UEFA Youth League.
