Ally McCoist has said he will start to talk fresh terms with those players that are out of contract, including Queen’s Park goalscorer Kane Hemmings.

Hemmings grabbed his debut goal for Rangers against Queen’s Park and the 21 year old would clearly like to continue his development at the club.

He’s not the only one out of contract in the summer though, and McCoist intends to secure the players he wants before looking for additions over the summer.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained.

‘We’re going to sit down with a lot of the boys over the next couple of weeks. There is a lot of work to be done and we want to take the club forward. We need to bring bodies in and also keep a lot of the bodies we already have here.’

Makes perfect sense, yes we can look for improvements over the summer as being a division higher will help attract others that wouldn’t have been interested this time last year, but equally we have to keep the core of the group together because of their understanding of each other and McCoist’s tactics.

Add carefully to the mix for greater improvement without trying to start fresh again.
