Ally McCoist has confirmed he has an interest in Queen of the South’s striker Nicky Clark.

The Rangers chief has confirmed that he has made contact with the players agent and his dad, former Rangers player and current QoS assistant manager Sandy Clark to sound out the potential of a move.

The 21 year old has been in scintilating form having scored 40 goals in 45 appearances for the Division Two champions.

Speaking to the Official Site the manager explained.

‘I’ve spoken to Nicky’s agent and I’ve spoken to Nicky’s father who I know reasonably well to let them know that we have an interest in talking and meeting with him. We’d like to see if there’s a possibility of him coming to the club.’

McCoist says that is the extent of the progress so far, it is a tentative enquiry and nothing more, but apparently father and son are keen to meet to discuss a potential move, and Ally is hopeful that can happen in the next week or so.
