Ally McCoist has admitted that he and his coaching staff will face a juggling act with our new signings as we attempt to use them as trialists in games.

Speaking to the Official Site with so many new signings not eligible to be registered officially until September 1 because of the embargo Rangers are under, namely – Cammy Bell, Jon Daly, Nicky Law, Nicky Clark, Arnold Peralta, Stevie Smith and Richard Foster – McCoist can use them as trialists but their appearances are limited under that status.

Prior to official registration Rangers face 8 games (4 league, 2 Ramsdens, 2 League Cup) where the club can only play two trialists, and each trialist will be limited to three appearances in total.

‘Once the cup draws are made we will have to plan what we are going to do in each match. It won’t just be a case of playing two strikers in one game and then two midfielders in another. We will need to work out what the best plan is.’

Certainly going to be interesting to see how they approach it, as on the same token, you want all our new signings match fit and match sharp for when they do become available properly.
