Kemar Roofe took to his Instagram account to show that he saw the humorous side to the supporter protests at Dundee yesterday.

The former Anderlecht and Leeds man proved to be the difference yesterday in the late win at Dens Park with a huge contribution off the bench for both goals. He now heads off to international duty with the Reggae Boyz and is likely to feature in both games against El Salvador and Canada.

The supporter protests against the Rangers board decision to play Celtic in the Australia ‘friendly’ gathered pace yesterday, coming a few days after the Parkhead club failed to mention our club in their press release on the proposed Sydney Super Cup. Reports from Down Under suggest that all isn’t well so it will be interesting to see what transpires between now and the Old Firm game at Ibrox after the international break.

A significant gesture was made with the game stopped just after kick off in Dundee with the chants of ‘You can stick your f*c*i*g friendly up your arse’ very loud and clear as well as a message banner and till rolls. Tennis balls soon followed with the camera panning to Gers managing director Stewart Robertson in the stands.

What a position the board find themselves in, of their own doing.

With Gio van Bronckhorst’s team trailing at half-time, the decision of those supporters concerned to go with another protest was a controversial one, with Allan McGregor amongst some players clearly frustrated at the latest stoppage, a sentiment many shared online post-match.

At the end of the game, the players and the manager celebrated with the away support showing that it is just one of those things and not something they were taking too seriously, reinforced by Roofe’s humour, above.

Three points had been secured most importantly.
