Glen Kamara is primed and ready for action at EURO2020 and arguably represents Rangers most valuable player at the upcoming tournament.

The Finns get their campaign underway against Denmark on Saturday evening and there will be plenty of interest from all in the Rangers camp to see how the mercurial midfielder fares.

Given his strong form, particularly in Europe last season, there has been no shortage of clubs linked with an interest in the 25-year old including former club Arsenal as well as Leeds and Borussia Dortmund.

However, a fully focussed and professional response was provided by the player when he was asked to speak on his future amid comments that he had reached the ceiling of achievements in Scotland.

Kamara told Finland based podcast Pallokerho:

“I’m a Rangers player until told otherwise.”

“I’m not focused on anything else, it’s been really good (at Ibrox).

“We just won the league unbeaten and had a good European run, so I’m not really focused on anything else – my full focus is on Finland right now.”

“The club’s on the up and everyone is looking forward to next season. We want to go and retain that title.”

Those comments reflect the drive and determination of a player who can still improve and reach higher levels.

They show that he isn’t getting carried away with himself – quite rightly he isn’t thinking about anything other that doing his best for his country over the coming weeks.

Once the dust settles with the tournament, his situation at Rangers could change.

Glen Kamara’s performances against Denmark, Russia and Belgium, at least, will have a bearing on what happens next.
