The future of Borna Barisic is very much up in the air at the moment and, depending on who you believe, he is either staying out or about to sign for Trabzonspor.

A fee of around the £4million mark has been mooted as a potential fee, however, as yet, there’s been nothing concrete with The Rangers Review’s Joshua Barrie claiming that there has been no offer or even enquiries about the Croatian international’s availability:

“Understand there is nothing happening regarding Borna Barisic at present. Rangers have not had any contact or confirmed interest from other clubs.

“It’s not guaranteed that the Croatian definitely stays this summer, but there is no current movement.”

The reports about any potential move have all come from Turkey, however, this doesn’t mean that there is no truth in the rumour, it’s also the second time now that one of the more reliable Rangers media sources has made this claim – surely once should be enough if there’s nothing in it?

Barisic seems to be dispensable given Calvin Bassey’s rise to prominence but losing both established left-backs in one summer could be a problem as we would probably be blocking any academy prospects with new signings.

Unfortunately, we don’t get to pick and choose what and when players leave and we are at the mercy of any bids that do come in, if it is our two left-backs then it’s up to our sporting director to make sure that they are adequately replaced – although, a Croatian intentional and potential Scottish record transfer are tough acts to follow.
