Jon Daly will sign a two year deal with the club effective from September 1st, and he becomes our third signing of the summer so far.
The striker, who can also operate in the centre of defence, has joined us from Dundee United. The 30 year old will bring good experience to the squad.
Speaking to the Official Site after the deal was finally announced, the player said that a big part of his decision was Ally McCoist and how he sold the club to him.
‘I’ve a lot of time for Ally and his coaching staff and to go on to play for them is a big thing. He spoke to me about the crowds and the club’s history and once we’d had a chat, my mind was basically made up.’
Daly says that although he’s taken a step back by dropping down a level, this will be the biggest club he has ever played for so taking this opportunity, with our fanbase, was a no brainer for him and once he knew of our interest, he told his agent to ignore other offers because this was the one he wanted to take.
