It has been confirmed that George Letham has been appointed to the board at Ibrox.

This is a move concerning the ‘football club’ board, The Rangers Football Club Ltd (TRFC).  TRFC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rangers International Football Club Plc (RIFC)

The name of George Letham, a successful businessman and well known fan of the club, is not a new one given his involvement as one of the ‘Three Bears’ investors who have supported the club to a great extent in recent times.

As reported by the Glasgow Evening Times,

“Letham will now take a seat at the top table alongside Managing Director Stewart Robertson, Ross Wilson, the Sporting Director, James Bisgrove, Andrew Dickson and James Blair.”

“The 63-year-old currently has a 4.33 per cent stake in RIFC plc and will now have a say in the running of the football board at Ibrox.”

“Documents lodged with Companies House on Tuesday show that Letham was named as a director on January 15.”

Amid talk and discussions over fan ownership at Ibrox and Club1872 buying shares from Dave King, this fresh update evidences that there is already a significant element of fan ownership and influence right at the top of Rangers.

Another steady hand and trusted figure in the boardroom is a welcome appointment as the club strives to accelerate its development off the pitch as well as on it.
