Rangers defender Lee Wallace made just his second league appearance of the season Sunday, helping Steven Gerrard’s side to a 2-1 victory over St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

The 31-year-old hasn’t started a single match for well over a year due to injury and lack of fitness, but it appears he’s finally on his way back to first-team inclusion in the future after replacing the injured Borna Barisic at McDiarmid Park.

Clearly lacking a bit of match fitness, he nonetheless produced a decent performance to keep the team moving towards victory in the second 45 minutes.

Fans have massive amounts of appreciation for the player because of his loyalty to the club through years of financial hardship, so it was incredibly pleasing for many to see him make a long-awaited return.

With Barisic now looking like he’ll be out for an extended period, plenty of fans are now hoping that Wallace gets a starting eleven nod going forward.

These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his Sunday display…
