With yesterday’s shock claims that HMRC had in fact thoroughly overestimated the true figure of the tax bill prior to our liquidation and fall from grace back in 2012, plenty of Rangers fans have simply been wondering what the hell is going on.
The Times report makes for damning reading, especially as there’s now a belief that upto £50million could be wiped, with only £20million now believed to be the correct estimate. Plenty feel that given the difference there, our fate could’ve been different.
The initial outrage would be obvious to anyone, but late last night HMRC took to social media to vigorously defend their position – presumably with as few words as possible.
As widely reported today and to clarify: HMRC won against Rangers’ tax avoidance in the Supreme Court, and did not miscalculate anything

Given the sound-byte nature of the Tweet, rather than a full and exhaustive answer to the claims made in the press – given their day-long silence – that simply served to rile fans up even more in some cases given the general confusion (maybe just me) out there after the development.
I thought it closed at 10 pm, must be sweeping up lol
