Rangers have already been linked with a host of players for when the summer transfer window opens including names we have seen in the past.

One such player is Harry Wilson, the 24-year old Liverpool forward who, after a series of loan spells, is set to leave Anfield and settle down.

According to The Athletic’s Liverpool correspondent, James Pearce, Wilson will be sold this summer with a valuation said to be in the region of £15million, now this seems to be way out of reach of our budget given that our record signing is Tore Andre Flo at £12m some 20 years ago.

When asked what the future held for the Wales international, Pearce said:

“I can only see one attacking signing this summer. Rangers haven’t asked about Wilson yet, not sure if that will change. He’s certainly for sale this summer.

“But at £15m it may only be PL clubs who can afford him. Wouldn’t surprise me if one of the promoted clubs went for him.”

Wilson has played for several Championship and lower Premier League type teams, if the reported fee can be negotiated down he might prefer to test himself in European football, something that he hasn’t been offered before, which would bring us back into the reckoning – it all depends on how much sway Steven Gerrard still has at his old club.
