Everton have told Rangers that they won’t let Davie Moyes go should Alex McLeish leave the club at the start of December.

Yesterday Alex McLeish was given a vote of confidence from chairmand David Murray, albeit for the next few games but there has been speculation in the press linking Everton manager Davie Moyes with the position should McLeish leave and Everton have issued Rangers with a warning that they won’t let him go.

Davie Moyes is the latest in a long run of managers linked with the job despite Alex McLeish still being in the position.

Paul Le Guen, Ottmar Hitzfeld, Brian and Michael Laudrup have all ruled themselves out. George Burley and Alan Curbishley have also been heavily linked with the job.
