There is one thing that Rangers have been linked with more than any other, a right winger.

Players from Serie A, Spain, Belgium and England have all been mentioned even before Giovanni van Bronckhorst took over, Ross Wilson will have a list of names and there’s a good chance that some of the ones mentioned will be on it.

One player who fits the bill is Millwall’s Jed Wallace, not only does he play on the right-hand side of attack but has posted decent numbers for a team that doesn’t have one of the biggest budgets in the league, he is also out of contract at the end of the season with his manager, Gary Rowett, revealing that a mid-season move could be on the cards, as told to the South London Press:

“We’re in a situation where we would love Jed to stay and sign a new contract but he is out of contract at the end of the season.

“We have to be open-minded to all scenarios. What we don’t want to do is lose one of our best players over the past four or five seasons for nothing.”

With five goals and six assists in his 21 league games, the 27-year old has been in good form for Rowett’s side and, as his manager suggests, is one of their key players.

Personally though, I think Wallace would have been more likely to sign if Steven Gerrard was still in charge with GvB favouring a different approach and type of player – Andreas Skov Olsen and Francis Amuzu the players I’d expect to be at the top of the shopping list, signing them is another matter of course.
