Michael Beale, Rangers First Team Coach was on the receiving end of an interview stitch up when The Scottish Sun turned a postive interview about the Scottish game into a sensationalist headline about how the 2019/20 season should be decided.
The well-travelled coach was interviewed by Academy Soccer Coach (via Beale’s own coaching blog) and discussed life in Scotland with his family, expectations at Rangers and how different working in the Scottish Premiership is compared to previous experiences at Sao Paulo, Liverpool and Chelsea.
The Sun has focussed on one question that covered the current coronavirus pandemic and how – if there was a way – the 2019/20 season should be concluded if all the required matches can’t be played, Beale suggests that clubs should get to vote and is honest to admit that clubs will ultimately look after themselves.
Rangers fans took to Twitter in response to Beale’s post, not surprised at the latest in a long line of clickbait stories surrounding their club.
The sooner Rangers as a whole stop talking to the media in this country, the sooner this stops happening. Move it in-house. We are Rangers. The media needs us, we dont need them.

I guess we’re just used to them doing that. 90% of people don’t read beyond the headlines. When they do, they take what they want from it anyway.

Welcome to Scotland michael. Everything you say will be taken out of context or held against you 😔

They are a massive reason as to why our game appears so small time. Constantly searching for outrage while ignoring any positivity. You’ve surely seen how the Colombian international at Rangers has been demonised?

Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story

You wear the rangers badge mate. You’ll never get the truth told about you or what you say.

Rangers fans are growing increasingly frustrated with the coverage that their club receives and as these ones point out, too frequently, positive stories are being turned into negative ones, such as, Alfredo Morelos being criticised for taking a few games to score his first goal for Colombia rather than celebrate the fact that he has been selected in the first place.
Beale has far too much to say for himself. He is a coach and should remain in the background. If he wants to be a mouthpiece he should find himself a Manager’s job where he will have his fill of Press opportunity.
Anybody connected to Rangers need to be constantly on their guard against the scurrilous Scottish media. Refuse to speak to them.
The best iv`e heard from Beale was when he called Clancy a cheat the press could elaborate on that piece of news or do they want to sweep that under the carpet as quickly as possible.
“No one likes us, we DO care” 😂😂😂
Oh dear, the tribute followers are bealin’.
