The Daily Record has reported that the nephew of Paul Gascoigne has impressed for Rangers academy side in a fixture against Partick Thistle as a trialist.
Cameron Gascoigne, 18, was released by Newcastle in the summer and the striker has already been on trial at the Ibrox club.
The youngster scored and played well with The Sun claiming that he may have done enough over his two trial periods to earn a full-time contract at the club.
He wouldn’t have far to go to learn about the demands of playing for Rangers with uncle Paul scoring 30 goals in 64 starts over 3 years for the Light Blues.
Gazza is fondly remembered by Rangers fans as a driving force in securing 9-in-a-row despite a drop-off in form and fitness leading to him being sold in the ill fated 10-in-a-row season, he remains a welcome visitor. Cameron will be hoping that he can emulate his uncle and become a hero for the Ibrox faithful.
Should Gazza be in Scottish football's Hall of Fame?
Yes
No
Rangers fans took to Twitter at the news and began to dream of what could be.
Think of the money we would make in shirt sales if the boy made it and fans were buying shirts with “Gascoigne 8” on the back again. Marketing managers dream.

If he’s even got 1% of the talent his uncle had then we have got a cracking player

This is brilliant. Let’s hope he gets signed. Imagine if he had the class of his uncle. Imagine the mayhem that would cause. Fingers crossed.

Gazza was one of the most gifted players of his generation and Cameron will have a long way to go before he is held in that esteem, but with the level of support he is getting from Rangers fans already, it’s safe to say he would be welcomed with open arms if he does get offered the chance to sign.
