A report in the French media outlet Le10sport (via the Scottish Sun) has claimed that St Etienne have blasted Rangers for being “too greedy” in their valuation of Alfredo Morelos.
Morelos has been the subject of increased transfer speculation in recent weeks with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Bordeaux all being credited with an interest, however, both Steven Gerrard and sporting director Ross Wilson are adamant that the Colombian international is going nowhere in January.
Rangers chief executive, Stewart Robertson, had claimed that clubs would have to offer more than the £19.7m Lyon paid for Celtic’s Moussa Dembele before the Ibrox club would enter negotiations and that was before Morelos scored 22 goals in 26 appearances this term as well as scoring his first international goal.
Will Morelos be sold in January?
Yes
No
The Scottish Premiership is a close as it’s been for a decade and Rangers will not want to lose their most important player, Gers fans not only backed their club on social media but also questioned the angle of the story being reported.
£30m or he goes nowhere. If these teams have money to burn then they pay up. The mhanks use that philosophy and so should we ????

I’m sure Rangers would accuse St Etienne of “being cheap” if you asked them about interest on their best player. What a crock of nonsense.

If that waste of a jersey @oli_mcburnie can go for 20 mill then you can at least double that for @morelos2106

Only Rangers could be the focus of a negative news story for not wanting to sell their best player

In case you’re wondering, “gie them their bike back” refers to the road bike that sits in the Ibrox trophy room that was presented as a gift to Rangers from St Etienne, emotions really are running that high.
