The problems appear to be mounting for new Royal Antwerp boss Frank Vercauteren, only days into his new role.

In a boost for Rangers Europa League hopes, Antwerp will be without their first choice goalkeeper Jean Butez who suffered ankle ligament damage in training this week, as reported by the Glasgow Times.

This new setback for Antwerp comes in the same week that wantaway forward Didier Lamkel Ze pulled a stunt by turning up to training wearing an Anderlecht shirt.

25 year old Butez will be a big loss the ‘The Great Old’ as he has played in all but two of Antwerp’s games this season.

The decision for Vercauteren will now be a choice of putting faith in second choice keeper Alireza Beiranvand or to seek to bring in a replacement.

The Iranian international Beiranvand has made one apperance in both the Jupiler League and Europa league, conceding two goals in both games.

Frenchman Butez will be devastated by this setback as it is said to be serious ankle ligament damage which is estimated to rule the stopper out of action for around three months.
