Sky Sports pundit Kris Commons believes that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has lost faith in some of his players to the extent that there could be major January transfer window exits.

The Ibrox boss was left fuming with the performance of his stars away to Dundee on Sunday, blasting them in his post-match interview and claiming he now knows which players he can trust and which players he can’t.

Commons believes that there could be no way back for some of them.

Writing in his Daily Mail column, the former Celtic midfielder said:

Steven Gerrard is at a crossroads. He’s now at the point where it looks – and sounds – like he’s ready to bin certain players in January.

To hear your manager come out and say that you ‘failed miserably’ isn’t just a rocket up the backside. It’s way beyond that.

It seems like Gerrard has lost faith in some of them on a really basic level, to the extent that there might be no way back now.

Many supporters of course agreed with Gerrard’s verdict of the performance it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that some are looking for players like Ovie Ejaria and Joe Worral to perhaps depart back to their parent clubs.

The problem is that replacements aren’t easily sought and losing anyone in the first-team squad could lead to a lack of cover in key areas.

The decisions on these players were made in the summer transfer window and it’s not really feasible to make that many signings and then bin them just a few months later.

We don’t really have the resources to do that either.

Gerrard must find a winning combination soon though, with huge matches on the horizon.
