In terms of Rangers and Scottish football, this will be a seismic transfer. These sort of deals just aren’t supposed to happen.
There will be a lot of ‘explaining’ to do in terms of how this move has been made possible and that very interesting situation will be set out and explained in full in the coming days, but bar any last minute change of plan, the highly rated and clearly talented Welsh international will be coming to Ibrox to assist in the title push.
As well as the initial loan, this move is said to be set up to give Rangers a purchase option at the end of the season which is even more surreal. Injury and finance doubts will remain, but this is obviously a risk that the Rangers hierarchy believe is one worth taking.
Across England, Lampard to Everton, Aubameyang to Barcelona and everything else will be overshadowed. This will be the move of deadline day to steal the biggest headlines.
