Rangers most expensive player ever, has said that Alfredo Morelos has what it takes to be a success in the English Premier League.

That was the verdict of Tore Andre Flo who has seen enough of the Colombian international to form the opinion that he could make the transition to an overall higher level.

In a report carried by Glasgow Live over the past weekend, the Norwegian made the remarks on Morelos.

“I think he’s done quite well for Rangers, he’s proven that he’s a good player and I can’t see why he couldn’t replicate that in the Premier League as well,” stated Flo.

“For the moment I think he’s better off at Rangers but the English league is a step up but if he has a chance to do that I think he can handle it.”

Flo was signed by then Rangers manager Dick Advocaat for a relatively massive £12 million pounds in November 2000 and despite a debut goal against Celtic, he never truly caught the imagination at Ibrox.

Flo’s scoring record at Rangers actually stands up to scrutiny with 29 goals over 53 games and the outgoing transfer fee that Rangers received from Sunderland for the player, £6.75 million, is often forgotten amid the debate on his price tag.

The Norwegian international has been an admirer of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers from afar and he believes that there is a chance of going the full season unbeaten, whilst the primary objective is the return of the Scottish Premiership title to Ibrox.

“I think it’s possible but I guess winning the league is the main priority and there’s still quite a bit to go to get there mathematically, but yes on current form I definitely think it’s possible,” stated Flo.

“It looks very, very good at the moment. It was always going to be a really important season to try and stop Celtic winning the 10-in-a-row and it looks like that’s going to be the case which is really good.”

“They’ve done brilliantly to get back on their feet and they’re competing at a good level across multiple competitions, but winning the league will be the pinnacle and will show how far they’ve come under Gerrard and playing brilliant football too.”
